As the holidays loom and it gets colder outside, so many of us (and our little ones) dream of playing in the snow! Whether it’s making snow angels, snowmen, or simply just enjoying the most festive weather possible, with endless opportunities, there’s so much enjoyment to be found. This craft is also a great opportunity for your child to become familiar with some STEM concepts, such as watching the chemical reactions occur, as well as building their own creations.
Many of us don’t live in a climate where this is available, or easily accessible, so we’ve found a way to bring the snow to you! Follow along with this super simple step by step and watch the holiday magic grow within your child.
1. In your bowl, combine 1 cup of baking soda with 1 cup of shaving cream.
2. Mix them together with a fork until blended well.
3. Add a couple drops of water until it has a snow-like consistency (you might need to add more baking soda and/or water until you have your preferred texture).
4. Marvel at your wintry creation and keep playing all day, making and/or recreating whatever your heart desires!
