Bennett started with our Foreign Language Program in March and his mom, Jane Park, shared that her main goal for Bennett, ”is exposure and excitement around learning Korean.”
In addition to being able to communicate better with his Korean-speaking grandparents,
"Bennett really loves that he’s just one of a few students in the class, and that he gets a lot of face time with Haeun.”
With our 30-minute live class sessions, Bennett has been able to be engaged and focused on the lesson at hand, while having tons of fun and learning new vocabulary. At home, he is, “more readily attempting to use Korean words and phrases in our everyday conversations.”
Practice is key when it comes to mastering a new language, so it’s incredibly helpful to reinforce the concepts that your little ones have been learning at home and throughout the course of your day.
“The daily email and text reminders are so helpful, and I also love that once the lesson is under way, the teacher takes the lead and it frees me up for half an hour. It’s the next best thing to private, in-person lessons.”
Pandemic parenting has come with many ups and downs – becoming your child’s teacher is just one of them.
“Bumo has really taken off the pressure that I had put on myself to teach Bennett Korean. It’s just not something I have the bandwidth to do on my own during this unusual school year. So the fact that I can log him in twice a week to his Korean class feels like a huge support. He looks forward to these lessons, and then we practice the learning throughout the rest of the week.”
We’re so thrilled to hear about Bennett’s experience in our Korean Foreign Language Program and we hope to instill the same love for learning a new language in your child as well!
