Therese is a native Angeleno who has been an admissions officer since 2005. Most recently, Therese was a seasonal application reader at Caltech, where she reviewed 2,500 files for the Fall 2022 class. At the University of Southern California (USC), she chaired the committees selecting recipients for the top merit scholarships at USC Annenberg. From 2019-2020, Therese lived and worked in London, England, advising students from six continents at TASIS The American School. She has also served as a volunteer reader for Questbridge, The Gates Foundation, and the Gilman Scholarship. She earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s degree in education at the University of Southern California.

During the 2022 and 2023 decision years, she read thousands of applications submitted from countries all around the world. Kristen began her own college journey at Vanguard University of Southern California, which she attended on a combined basketball and academic scholarship. She then transferred to the University of California, Davis, earning a B.A. in English, Teaching Credential, and a Master’s degree in Education.

John's a very experienced/expert tutor with 9+ years of experience in SAT/ACT, college essays/coaching, and high school coursework. He graduated from Harvard with a degree in neurobiology and English, which enables him to tutor a variety of subjects. John believes that the most important attribute for a tutor to possess, beyond complete knowledge of the material, is adaptability. Every student is different, and so John strives to adapt to the needs of each individual student. Additionally, John played college soccer, so he feels that he can relate well to the grind of the student-athlete experience.
When he's not tutoring, John spends his time writing, performing comedy around LA, and watching/playing soccer. He's grateful for the opportunity to work with students and continue in education, a field that means so much to him.
